Job Summary:

As a Pharmacist with the Arctic Slope Native Association, Ltd, you will play a critical role in providing accurate, safe, and efficient pharmaceutical care to patients. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement treatment guidelines that address cost-effective and appropriate drug therapy.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary groups to enhance patient care and provide clinical practice direction to other staff members.
  • Conduct and participate in clinical research, and provide accurate, efficient, and appropriate pharmaceutical distribution services to patients.
  • Identify, resolve, and prevent potential and actual drug-related problems by obtaining and evaluating medical data.
  • Communicate directly with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to relate information regarding patient drug therapy.
  • Monitor all patient drug therapy for cost effectiveness and communicate all possible cost-saving recommendations to the patient's physician(s).
  • Document all medication errors and near misses, and maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required; an advanced degree (Pharm D.) is preferred.
  • Completion of a residency with a minimum of two years post-graduate clinical practice experience or equivalency in retail and inpatient pharmacy is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support card, and active membership in both state and national pharmacy organizations are preferred.
  • Must have a valid unrestricted license to practice pharmacy and to dispense controlled substances within the United States.
