Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for executing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions aimed at assisting adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with respiratory and cardiac conditions. This position involves providing care in various settings, including general and specialized units. The role necessitates advanced assessment capabilities in one age group and intermediate skills in others.

Education and Experience:
A degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program with an Associate's Degree is required. Prior clinical experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate should possess expertise in assembling and troubleshooting medical equipment, performing blood draws, conducting assessments, executing maintenance tasks, and calibrating devices.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Proficiently reading, writing, and speaking in English (Spanish proficiency is advantageous)
  • Effectively utilizing computer software
  • Resolving equipment malfunctions
  • Engaging in positive communication and collaboration with colleagues
  • Adhering to institutional policies and demonstrating leadership

  • Working independently with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrating strong sensory perception for patient care tasks
Licenses and Certifications:
Applicants must possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of California. Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification is essential, along with current certifications in age-specific Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). Preference will be given to candidates holding Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
