Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Parent Liaison to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with parents and students, promoting academic success, and fostering a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor attendance and tardiness, and work with parents to ensure students attend school regularly.
  • Coordinate the Parent Involvement Program, providing parents with a clear understanding of school goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a Parent Center, serving as a hub for parent engagement and support.
  • Collaborate with outside organizations to plan and implement monthly Parental Education Programs.
  • Perform home visits to support students and families, as needed.
  • Recruit and engage parent volunteers to support school initiatives.
Requirements
  • Two years of accumulated college credits or a 2-year degree from an accredited college/university, or successful completion of the Work Keys test.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults and students, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
