Position Overview

The Senior Occupational Therapist specializing in hand rehabilitation plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to patients in an ambulatory setting. This position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in occupational therapy, particularly in hand therapy.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program is mandatory.
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice occupational therapy in Massachusetts is required.
  • A minimum of four years of clinical experience is essential; however, this requirement may be waived for candidates with relevant experience and a proven track record of excellence.

2. Analytical and Educational Expertise: The ability to analyze and apply knowledge in Occupational Therapy is crucial for developing and implementing clinical programs and training new staff.

Working Conditions

This role is situated in a hospital environment, which may involve exposure to blood, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases. Physical efforts related to patient care may pose risks of musculoskeletal strain if proper techniques are not employed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Senior Occupational Therapist will assist in supervising and educating staff therapists, assistants, and aides.

Fiscal Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely entry of patient charges is required, supported by appropriate medical documentation.
  • Management of hospital and departmental equipment must be done in a cost-effective manner.
Compliance and Ethical Standards

Adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards is paramount. The therapist must comply with all relevant policies and procedures and participate in required training.
