Principal Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team at Novartis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for proposing, designing, and evaluating novel assays and chemotypes to tackle longstanding challenges in covalent ligand discovery.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and evaluate novel assays and chemotypes to tackle challenges in covalent ligand discovery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new research strategies
- Conduct biochemical, biophysical, and cellular characterization of protein-ligand interactions
- Develop and implement medium-to-high throughput compound screening strategies
- PhD in Chemical Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Science with at least 2 years of related postdoctoral and/or industry experience
- Background in covalent ligand discovery with an emphasis in biophysics or cellular studies and a working knowledge of organic chemistry
- Knowledge of concepts governing compound binding affinity and reactivity, kinetics, and selectivity
- Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a multitasking environment
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
