Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in generating spatial transcriptomic and proteomic optical imaging data of human and non-human primate brains.

The Research Scientist will utilize our novel technology pipeline, including tissue processing, molecular probe staining, and volumetric data acquisition using light sheet microscopes. They will work closely with our team to conduct experiments, optimize protocols, and ensure successful and consistent results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the principal investigator and key center personnel to meet milestone timelines
  • Assisting with preparing quarterly/annual progress reports
  • Ensuring timely data generation and experimental research progress
  • Independently conducting and leading experiments with assistance from junior research staff
  • Serving as a resource to all lab personnel
  • Monitoring project deadlines and troubleshooting issues
  • Training lab members on general lab operations, equipment, and protocols

Requirements include a Ph.D. in a related scientific field, at least five years' experience working in a large research laboratory, and strong technical/scientific writing skills. Preferred qualifications include experience with laboratory management software and proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
