**Key Responsibilities:**
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- To assist in creating and testing new recipes and menu design.
- To assist in the supervision of day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that quality and quantity standards are met.
- To train and support kitchen employees to maintain high levels of employee morale and department productivity.
- To coordinate service, pass, and pick-up of food.
- To assist in inspecting the cleanliness of the line floor and kitchen stations.
- To oversee the proper and efficient preparation of food for the restaurant, ensuring that quality and quantity standards are being met.
- To maintain a current computer listing of all scheduled business.
- To ensure foods are stored and served at proper temperatures.
- To taste and monitor presentation of all food served to guests, and ensure that appearance and quality are consistently maintained.
- To report all needed equipment repairs.
- To assist cooks to prepare foods on the line during service.
- To follow all specified procedures to open or close the kitchen.
- To assume all duties of the Sous Chef in their absence.
- To assist with inventories and ordering, as directed.
**Requirements:**
- English fluency required. Spanish fluency helpful.
- Culinary graduate with knowledge of all facets of kitchen operations and production.
- Minimum two years prior hotel/kitchen experience, including a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
- Familiar with OSHA, local Department of Health regulations, and Covid protocols.
- Food handlers card required upon hire.
**Working Conditions:**
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays is required.
- Works both indoors and out, depending upon service needs.
- Business levels may require fast work pace.
- Indoors: clean, well-lighted area. Frequently works behind hot ranges.
- Outdoors: exposed to outdoor temperature variation.
