We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (PE) to join our team in Southern California. The PE will collaborate closely with field leadership and project management, concentrating on Airfield and Infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee document management between project folders and digital platforms such as PlanGrid and Procore.
  • Conduct take-offs for lighting and power requirements.
  • Assist in project initiation, including securing a jobsite trailer and office supplies, identifying local vendors, and coordinating with accounting for vendor setup.
  • Comprehend the project timeline, including key deliverables and milestones, and support the project team in its development.
  • Prepare and review commodity submittals, manage long lead submittals, create RFIs and CORs, and track documentation for submission and closure.
  • Process material orders and Subcontractor terms and conditions, ensuring proper phase code assignments.
  • Support the project team with logistics for deliveries to the site or shop.
  • Follow up with vendors on long lead items and monitor procurement progress.
  • Gather production data from the field and input it into tracking systems to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Serve as a resource for Foreman, Field Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with General Contractors, Project Owners, Subcontractors, and vendors to promote project success.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or equivalent educational background.
  • Experience in construction management is advantageous.
  • Preferred background in the electrical field.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Comprehend the construction process from both office and field perspectives.
  • Familiarity with the estimating process, particularly in electrical estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Procore.
  • Experience with scheduling platforms is preferred.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, effective time management, and organizational skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to navigate between office and job sites.
  • Possess a valid Driver's license.
Compensation:
  • Salary range: $75,000/year - $95,000/year
    • This is an exempt position.
