About the Role

As a Maintenance Planner at Tesla, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Cybertruck manufacturing lines. Your primary responsibilities will include crafting work orders based on field diagnosis and inspection, launching new PM schedules, handling administrative duties, generating insightful weekly and monthly reports on PM completion, MTTR, MTBF, and Availability, and conducting root cause analysis for early failures across general assembly lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workload Management: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and efficiently manage overall workload.
  • Work Order Evaluation: Evaluate work orders to ensure proper assignment and collection of necessary parts, tools, and repair time.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Collaborate across disciplines for accurate and efficient application of work order repairs.
  • Systematic Inspection: Conduct systematic inspections of core systems and create work orders to address potential issues proactively.
  • Leadership Interface: Provide updates on PM/Work Order system status and repair priorities to various levels of leadership.
  • Auditing and Accuracy: Audit PM execution for accuracy and generate work orders based on preventive maintenance findings.
  • Special Duties and Projects: Undertake assigned special duties and projects.
Requirements
  • Experience & Education: 3-5 years of technical experience in high-volume auto body manufacturing; Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, combination of education and experience, or equivalent.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pneumatics, AC/DC electricity, industrial robots, and general manufacturing technologies.
  • Time Management & Adaptability: Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment; flexibility in handling challenging changes.
  • Communication & Initiative: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proactive, self-motivated approach to work.
  • Analytical Skills & Lean Principles: Proficient in data analysis and risk-based decision-making; familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Maintenance Practices: Experience with TPM and/or Autonomous Maintenance; skills in project management desired.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CMMS software for maintenance tracking; strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel for data analysis, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with collaborative project platforms like Jira.
