Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated RN-CVOR nurse to join our surgical services team, focusing on delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. The Cardiovascular Operating Room presents a challenging yet rewarding environment, requiring a candidate who is disciplined, focused, and a collaborative team member.

As an RN-CVOR nurse, your responsibilities will include assisting cardiovascular patients throughout their surgical journey. You will ensure adherence to sterile protocols during operations, guarantee the availability of necessary equipment and medications, and prioritize patient safety at all times.

Additionally, you will be responsible for independently assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care from patient admission to discharge. Collaboration with patients, their families, and the healthcare team is essential to provide comprehensive, theory-based nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in patient sedation and support physicians during procedures by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and applying dressings.
  • Maintain the operating room's sterility, cleanliness, and functionality of equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Evaluate nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Apply aseptic techniques and monitor compliance within the surgical team.
  • Take corrective actions when deviations from protocols occur.
  • Ensure high-quality control measures to safeguard patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a clinical setting.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current certifications as required by the facility.
  • Demonstrated experience as a cardiovascular operating room nurse (both circulating and scrub roles).
  • Thorough understanding of surgical procedures.
  • Expertise in aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observational skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
