Job Summary

The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking a seasoned Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic legal guidance to our management and executive teams, ensuring that our business operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure that the company operates within the law at all times, identifying and mitigating potential risks and liabilities.

Strategic Legal Advice

Provide expert, strategic legal advice to management and executive teams on all aspects of the business, including corporate governance, labor law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.

Leadership and Management

Direct, oversee, and control legal activities and functions, ensuring that the organization's legal posture is developed and maintained.

External Representation

Represent the company in complex legal matters, including public relations and regulatory compliance, and negotiate with external parties as necessary.

Intellectual Property and Statutory Filings

Manage the company's intellectual properties and statutory filings, ensuring that all necessary documents are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.

Communication and Collaboration

Communicate pertinent legislative and regulatory changes to the management team and ensure that all stakeholders are informed of any changes that may impact the business.

Financial Management

Review and control department budget to support strategically planned programs of legal actions or defenses and to assure optimum deployment of resources.

Team Development

Develop a professionally competent staff by mentoring, coaching, providing feedback, and evaluating performance.

Confidentiality and Discretion

Maintain confidentiality for all sensitive and protected information.

Requirements
  1. Advanced Law Degree

A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Minimum 15 Years of Experience

A minimum of 15 years of experience in the legal profession, with a minimum of 3 years of cumulative direct experience in litigation.

Construction Industry Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.

Team Management Experience

Experience directly managing teams of 3 or more legal professionals.

Corporate, Labor, and Contract Law Knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of corporate, labor, and contract law.

Exceptional Judgment and Problem-Solving Skills

Exceptional judgment for weighing inputs and evaluating potential courses of action, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.

Strategic Acumen and Communication Skills

Strategic acumen and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 50%.
