Job Summary

The Housing Authority of the City of Danbury (HACD) is seeking a skilled Driver to provide transportation services to residents, ensuring their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transport residents to and from destinations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to a scheduled route.
  2. Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and any incidents that may occur during service delivery.
  3. Assist residents with mobility needs, including lifting or carrying items, as required.
  4. Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for service.
  5. Collaborate with residents, staff, and other stakeholders to provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Valid State of Connecticut Class A or B driver's license with a clean driving record.
  3. One year of customer service experience, including interacting with diverse populations.
  4. Experience working with low-income and special needs individuals preferred.
  5. Bilingual ability in Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment

The Driver will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, staff, and other stakeholders. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The noise level is moderate.
