Job Summary

Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Analyze health insurance benefits and verify eligibility to ensure accurate billing and collection processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping, while adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Determine and collect patient financial responsibilities, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Support the practice manager and other staff members as needed, providing assistance with daily operations and special projects.
  • Document patient history and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Collect and maintain patient and business documents, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform office procedures, including general administrative duties, and document Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) accurately.
  • Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • May be required to travel to nearby Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support staff members.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.
  • Urgent care experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days a week, rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination a plus.
