In the role of Inpatient Pharmacy Specialist, you will:
Assist the on-duty pharmacist in delivering comprehensive pharmacy services. Prepare, package, and distribute medications accurately. Manage inventory effectively. Provide excellent customer service. Maintain detailed pharmacy records.

Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation:
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of medications, including selection, labeling, repackaging, and compounding.

Medication Distribution:
  • Deliver medications promptly to designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of medications and supplies.
Conduct regular inventory audits and inspections.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
Document compliance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Communication and Teamwork:
  • Engage with colleagues and patients positively and effectively.
Demonstrate emotional intelligence in workplace interactions. Participate actively in team meetings and training sessions. Share responsibility for achieving team objectives.
Technology Utilization:
  • Utilize information systems and technology efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
High School Diploma or completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Certifications:


Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the appropriate state board is required.


Work Experience:
Preferred six months of experience in a hospital setting.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform tasks while standing, walking, reaching, and sitting for extended periods; manual dexterity for computer use and medication dispensing.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
