Job Title: College Recruitment Advisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized College Recruitment Advisor to join our team at The Texas A&M University System. As a College Recruitment Advisor, you will play a critical role in assisting high school students to research, apply to, and enroll in colleges that will serve them well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one admissions and financial-aid advice to high school students and their families.
  • Develop comprehensive college timelines for each student, including application deadlines for admissions and financial aid.
  • Assist students in completing and submitting admissions, scholarships, and financial aid applications.
  • Travel to various high schools and other locations to perform advising and program work.
  • Organize group events to encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities.
  • Work with local community groups and other social-service providers to offer group events outside of school settings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an institution in the state of Texas.
  • No experience required.
  • Excellent communication, verbal, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to relate well with a high school student population.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to use word processing programs and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work as a regional/off-site team member in a dynamic organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high school students.
  • Experience working with Admissions and/or Financial Aid.
  • Background in general office conditions with significant time spent working with high school students.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
