Role Summary

In the capacity of a College Recruitment Advisor within the Texas A&M Advise TX College Advising Corps, you will engage with high school learners to assist them in navigating the college exploration, application, and enrollment journey. If you possess a strong desire to empower students in realizing their academic aspirations, we invite you to consider this opportunity.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree obtained from a Texas institution
  • No previous experience required
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience with high school students is advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Guidance - Offer tailored admissions and financial aid advice to students, assist with the submission of applications, and aid in understanding college communications
  • Event Coordination - Plan and execute events to enhance college readiness, visit educational institutions to provide services, and partner with community organizations
  • Support - Collaborate with fellow advisors in the program, contribute to program assessments, and engage in professional development initiatives
  • Building Partnerships - Establish connections with school staff, evaluate school requirements, and modify programs as needed
  • Knowledge Enhancement - Remain informed about current admissions and financial aid advising practices, participate in training and professional growth activities
