Your Responsibilities

Job Overview: You will take on a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for projects while assisting the Project Manager in overseeing the engineering team's performance regarding budget, timeline, and client satisfaction. This position requires minimal supervision.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Communicating all technical challenges, decisions, and issues to the Project Manager.
  • Collaborating with clients on technical design matters.
  • Working alongside the Project Management Team (including PM, Construction Manager, Procurement Manager, Quality Manager, and Project Controls Lead) to address execution challenges.
  • Assisting the PM in managing engineering budgets and schedules, as well as identifying, estimating, and documenting scope changes.
  • Providing weekly and monthly updates on engineering status and issues.
  • Planning, scheduling, and forecasting engineering resources in collaboration with Project Discipline Leads and Department Resource Leaders.
  • Maintaining awareness of man-hours and associated estimates, as well as tracking TIC estimate quantities to recognize scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitating the development of project-specific engineering and design procedures, ensuring proper approvals for deviations from client or Hargrove standards.
  • Coordinating engineering contributions for documents that define project scope, such as Scope & Criteria documents and Engineering Execution Plans.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of multi-discipline outputs, including Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Area Classification Drawings, Post-IFD P&IDs, and General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Leading inter-discipline coordination to resolve design conflicts.
  • For projects involving 3D modeling, regularly reviewing models to ensure timely inter-discipline coordination, addressing loss prevention issues, confirming clash detection, and ensuring overall quality control of engineering deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management is required.
  • Familiarity with project execution protocols.
  • Understanding of company business standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and project control tools.
  • Ability to lead teams in fulfilling commitments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Capability to manage client relationships in challenging situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Insight into customer needs and preferences.
  • Skill in delegating authority effectively.
  • Clear communication of expectations and requirements to team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
