Reporting Structure: Reports to Operations Manager or designated representative

Travel Requirements: Up to 75%

Key Responsibilities

As a Heavy Civil Project Supervisor, you will oversee the scheduling, coordination, and management of craft personnel, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and company policies. You will also support subcontractor operations on-site.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Uphold Forgen's Core Values in all job functions.
  • Execute the responsibilities outlined for the Superintendent role.
  • Plan and organize daily field operations effectively.
  • Monitor the performance and productivity of craft teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of project personnel.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation, including timecards and field reports.
  • Plan work schedules and assess manpower and material needs at least two weeks in advance.
  • Utilize project schedules to guide field activities.
  • Identify potential changes in project scope or conditions.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and report any violations of regulations.
  • Manage the safe operation and maintenance of project equipment.
  • Support the training and development of project staff.
  • Engage in bidding opportunities, including site visits and proposal preparation.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Environmental Remediation, Heavy Civil, Deep Foundations, or Geotechnical sectors, with a preference for Deep Foundations.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to operate a vehicle for company business.
  • Preferred safety training includes, but is not limited to:
    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
    • Competent Person Safety Training
    • 8-Hour Supervisory Training
    • 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
    • First Aid and CPR

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams.
  • Ability to navigate challenging situations and achieve positive outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices and equipment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to safety and ethical standards.
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements

This position involves a mix of office work and site visits. The following physical capabilities may be necessary:

  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Regular use of communication tools such as phones and email.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity for office equipment use.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based outdoors at construction sites, with occasional office work. You may encounter:

  • Job site conditions, including machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Uneven terrain.
