Summary/Objective:
The Leak Repair Technician is tasked with the safe identification, assessment, and rectification of leaks at client locations. This role involves engaging with diverse clients to enhance the company's visibility in a designated area, as well as mentoring and guiding new technicians or assistants.
The Technician is committed to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and integrity at Colt Services LLC.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following company and client safety protocols, while also alerting others to potential hazards beyond the immediate scope of work.
Completes all assigned tasks while upholding Colt's Core Values.
Assists in evaluating leaking components and communicates findings to operations, engineering, and client representatives.
Participates in leak repair operations that may involve:
Drilling and tapping of components
Wire wrapping and banding
Utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures to achieve precise design specifications
Installing various clamps and enclosures
Measuring complex geometries of components.
Maintains on-call status to promptly respond to customer emergencies on-site.
Assists in inspecting leak repair devices provided by manufacturers as part of quality assurance before installation.Recognizes the need for appropriate safety equipment in coordination with the plant and Colt's safety matrix to ensure all projects are executed safely.
Supports documentation and administrative tasks as required on a job-to-job basis.Communicates and collaborates with field personnel, client representatives, and management to ensure successful project completions.
Stays informed about company products and services available to clients.
Willing to assist with sales activities throughout the assigned territory.
Open to receiving direction from supervisors and maintaining consistent attendance.
Adheres to quality procedures and exemplifies a strong safety culture.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade school education is preferred.
This is an entry-level position, but candidates must possess mechanical aptitude and skills.
Some experience with online leak repair is preferred.
Must be able to pass routine and random drug screenings.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
Must be proficient in understanding, speaking, and writing in English.
Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specified deadlines.
Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work is preferred.
Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
Work Conditions:
This position is based out of a branch or site location with geographic responsibilities.
Field duties require both indoor and outdoor work in a plant or industrial environment.
Interaction with other crew members, supervisors, and client personnel is essential.
Work may involve exposure to production machinery with high heat and noise levels.
May be required to work in extreme hot or cold environments.
Must be able to wear safety equipment as mandated by the safety department for personal protection on a per-job basis.
May need to visit multiple job sites in a single day and must be able to adapt to climate changes.
Periodic travel out of town may be required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to walk and climb throughout industrial areas, including steps and ladders.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients in high-stress situations.
Must be capable of working on elevated or hard-to-reach surfaces in various locations within industrial facilities.
Must effectively manage time and scheduling on a weekly basis and be available for travel to offsite locations as necessary.Ability to maintain focus and multitask efficiently across a variety of job scopes for different locations.
Excellent communication skills are essential; must adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, evaluate each job scope, and mitigate safety hazards with appropriate safety measures and personal protective equipment.
