Job Title: Procurement Business Partner for Research

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Business Partner for Research to lead category management, sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement for external spend across Research. Reporting to the Head of R&D Procurement, this role is part of a global, collaborative procurement team focused on transforming how strategic investments are assessed and engaged across the organization.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and update annual category plans with stakeholders, analyzing past and future spending, supplier relationships, and market trends.
* Lead sourcing initiatives using a standard framework and tools, collaborating with stakeholders to create sourcing strategies and ensure continuous improvement.
* Implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring high performance and meeting organizational standards.
* Monitor the risk profile of suppliers and proactively implement mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.
* Develop and implement a portfolio of sourcing initiatives to achieve cost reductions, meeting both immediate and long-term savings targets.

Requirements:

* 6+ years of progressive category management/strategic sourcing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry within an R&D setting.
* Bachelor's degree required; a BA/BS in a technical discipline is desired.
* Proficient in key competencies such as communication, project management, relationship management, negotiation, financial acumen, and analytical skills.
* Experience in research services is strongly preferred.
* Proven track record of delivering cost savings and managing complexity and change.
* Ability to work in a metric-driven environment and meet performance targets.
* Passion for contributing to the development of a world-class procurement function.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills for resolving issues in a matrixed environment.
* Master's degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
* Professional procurement certification (CPSM, MCIPS, etc.) is desired.

Work Environment:

* Cambridge, MA preferred but will consider remote candidates.
