Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, ensuring the balance between organizational needs and total value delivery. Drive collaboration and efficiency.
  • Category Strategy: Develop and update annual category plans with stakeholders, analyzing past and future spending, supplier relationships, and market trends. Manage multi-year category roadmaps and sourcing initiative pipelines, adapting to market changes and technological advancements.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead sourcing initiatives using a standard framework and tools. Collaborate with stakeholders to create sourcing strategies and ensure continuous improvement. Execute RFx processes, advanced negotiation strategies, and finalize agreements in partnership with legal teams.
  • Supplier Management: Implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring high performance and meeting organizational standards.
  • Risk Management: Monitor the risk profile of suppliers and proactively implement mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.
  • Savings Delivery: Develop and implement a portfolio of sourcing initiatives to achieve cost reductions, meeting both immediate and long-term savings targets.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive category management/strategic sourcing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry within an R&D setting.
  • Bachelor's degree required; a BA/BS in a technical discipline is desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in key competencies such as communication, project management, relationship management, negotiation, financial acumen, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in research services is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and managing complexity and change.
  • Ability to work in a metric-driven environment and meet performance targets.
  • Passion for contributing to the development of a world-class procurement function.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for resolving issues in a matrixed environment.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Professional procurement certification (CPSM, MCIPS, etc.) is desired.
