About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Duke Health. As a key member of our inpatient unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients, including feeding, bathing, and ambulation, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Perform a variety of selected patient care tasks to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
  • Retrieve and record patient data in electronic medical records and report to the nurse any new or abnormal changes in the patient's condition.
  • Participate in the transport of patients and maintain a clean and organized assigned area.
  • Perform a variety of clerical tasks involved in operating the organization's patient care information system.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina or certification as a Behavioral Health Technician by The Academy of Addiction Professionals or the American Medical Certification Association.
  • BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation.
  • CPI certification is strongly preferred.
