Job Overview

SUMMARY: Seeking a candidate with a strong background in plastics. Responsible for overseeing maintenance staff and operations to ensure that machinery and equipment are effectively repaired, installed, and maintained to meet production requirements and align with company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage departmental operations within the allocated budget.
  2. Implement cost-saving measures through the efficient management of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  3. Foster a safe working environment.
  4. Supervise the maintenance team and their activities.
  5. Design and oversee preventative maintenance initiatives.
  6. Prioritize maintenance tasks effectively.
  7. Monitor maintenance shop expenses and propose capital improvement needs.
  8. Analyze downtime and efficiency metrics.
  9. Promote continuous process enhancements.
  10. Collaborate with vendors on various projects.
  11. Ensure compliance with all company policies.
  12. Facilitate training for new hires and ongoing training to enhance productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Preferred: College Degree or Technical Certification.
  2. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and facility equipment, particularly Injection Molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, assembly machines, and compression machines.
  3. Experience in maintaining essential support systems such as HVAC, chiller systems, and vacuum loading systems.
  4. Ability to interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical schematics.
  5. Familiarity with PLCs and electromechanical relay control systems.
  6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  7. Strong organizational and communication abilities with a proven capacity to manage multiple tasks.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  9. Positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  10. Prior experience in Plastic Injection Molding is essential.
  11. 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  12. Physical capability to perform tasks including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally).
  13. Proficient in computer skills and software applications for generating reports and spreadsheets.

Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work safely in a production setting, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
