Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our team at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follows all regulations on the radioactive materials license set by the Texas Department of Health for that specific institution.
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Demonstrates competence in the area of nuclear medicine: positioning, physiology, procedure prep and technical factors.
  • Properly handles radiopharmaceuticals and maintains accurate record keeping according to Nuclear Medicine guidelines.
  • Utilizes the Radiology Information System to schedule exams, complete exams, track patient and film information, and enter charges according to procedures performed.
  • Ensures accurate labeling and assay of isotopes while adhering to radiation safety regulations.
  • Participates in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implements changes accordingly.
Requirements
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Department of Health.
  • Must have one of the following certifications within six months of hire date: ARRT (N) or NMTCB.
  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program or Radiology Technologist program with one year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.
