Job Title: Principal Risk Informed Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Risk Informed Engineer to join our team at Astronautics Corporation of America. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for leading and performing audits of our quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and perform audits of AS9100, FAA Certified Repair Station, customer, and regulatory quality management systems.
  • Train internal auditors to maintain their competence.
  • Prepare process personnel for audit activities by reviewing, obtaining, and ensuring the compliance of evidence presented.
  • Identify and facilitate the corrective action process, including coordinating investigations, implementing activities, and auditing for effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and prepare Quality Management System reviews.
  • Review customer requirements for applicability and participate in project launches and program reviews.
  • Facilitate and coordinate process improvement for Quality Management System and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Participate in supplier management activities.
  • Coordinate teams to review, create, release, and maintain the audit process, corrective action, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of an Associate degree in business, science, or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of quality assurance experience in an avionics/aerospace environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess communication, organizational, analytical, and PC skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor degree in business, science, or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with ISO9001/AS9100, FAA MIDO, and FSDO quality management systems and auditing.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Knowledge of quality tools to conduct root cause, corrective action, and continuous improvement analysis.
