Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in maintaining positive relationships with customers and sales staff, ensuring timely order processing, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to resolve customer inquiries and complaints effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, enter orders for own accounts and others, and optimize production efficiency.
  • Communication: Discuss customer service matters with sales personnel and other departments, determine the best course of action, and maintain steady communication with customers.
  • Problem Solving: Effectively resolve customer complaints or questions, balance customer and company interests, and provide support to Howell departments.
  • Relationship Building: Foster a team approach to problem solving with external and internal customers.
  • Market Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current customer business conditions and the pharmaceutical industry through reading trade journals, websites, and e-newsletters.
  • Sales: Educate customers on Howell capabilities, products, and services, and effectively communicate services that differentiate us from competitors.
  • Project Management: Provide support to Project Management Teams.
  • Contract Administration: Understand contract and/or pricing agreement terms and conditions, verify incoming order requests, and notify Sales of any discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Present recommendations for improvement to customer management teams, actively participate on project teams, and continually strive to improve processes for optimal results.
  • Organization: Maintain organized files of customer communications and documents, prioritize tasks, and train to be a backup for existing CS Reps and other office staff.
