POSITION SUMMARY:


The Assistant Grocery Store Manager supports the Grocery Manager in overseeing daily store operations and provides guidance to ensure successful grocery management.

This role involves assisting the Grocery Manager in enhancing the team's efficiency, effectiveness, and service to align with the company's growth objectives.

The Assistant Grocery Store Manager is expected to exemplify the company's values by achieving results while upholding our core principles.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Stocking, rotating, and organizing products on shelves;
  • Ensuring product labels are visible and shelves are orderly;
  • Providing assistance in various areas to meet store requirements;
  • Delivering exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting shoppers and addressing inquiries and concerns;
  • Enforcing safety, health, and security protocols;
  • Inspecting products received for sale or storage to evaluate their condition;
  • Assisting in providing outstanding service and ensuring proper handling of products, including date controls and rotation for freshness;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in retail management;
  • Customer service experience is a plus;
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one is required;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage diverse team dynamics;
  • Strong coaching skills for direct reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The physical demands and work conditions outlined below are essential for successfully performing the key functions of this role. Some requirements may be adjusted to accommodate individuals with disabilities:

*WALKING: Required continuously throughout the shift while navigating the store and handling merchandise.
*STANDING: Required continuously throughout the shift.
*LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
