About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadway Engineer to join our top-performing transportation team in either our established Cincinnati office or our soon-to-open Akron office location.

In this role, you will gain exciting and valuable experience on major ODOT projects and the occasional national road and highway project, leading junior engineers and gaining knowledge and support from our expert team of roadway engineers.

You will contribute on diverse projects and designs for both conventional and integrated delivery (design/build) projects.

Your projects may include roadway rehabilitations, bridge rehabilitations, new roadway designs, interstate widening/expansions, roundabouts, toll-lanes, intersection improvements, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of design and analysis functions for road/highway and related projects.
  • Perform vertical alignments, horizontal impacts, analyze cross-sections, calculate super-elevations, and execute grading and permit/plan preparation.
  • Perform complex engineering computations and analyses, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and surveys.
  • Perform designs using complex software like Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads, and Autocad Civil 3D.
  • Complete a variety of assignments (drawings, specifications, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes).
  • Frequent cross-discipline communication.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, datasheets, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 8+ years of relevant civil road/highway design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Any state DOT experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages associated with civil engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microstation, Autocad, or Civil 3D.
  • Openroads/InRoads experience/proficiency.
  • Ohio DOT project experience.
