Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our Liver Transplant team at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical diagnostic services and support to patients in varying stages of the transplant process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of patient needs, delivering clinical diagnostic services in the area of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and its comorbidities.
  • Serve as a resource for stakeholders, including families, patients, nurses, pharmacists, financial specialists, and medical directors.
  • Collaborate with the transplant team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
Requirements
  • Minimum - Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or other Behavioral Health related field.
  • Preferred - Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or other Behavioral Health related field.
  • Relevant student internship or other educational experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum - One (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred - Three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Unrestricted certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), or substance use disorder specialty certification with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), or license/certification eligible in the State of Wisconsin.
