Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Service and Product Assistant to join our team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (West Bank) in Minneapolis, MN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, deliver, replenish, clean, and maintain medical equipment, supplies, and linen in various areas, including stat rooms, patient rooms, and inventory locations.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels of equipment and supplies, including calculating par levels and adjusting levels as necessary.
  • Coordinate the delivery of items arriving at the dock and ensure accurate tracking and logging.
  • Perform gross decontamination of instruments, clean, rinse, and accurately route utensils.
  • Decontaminate and clean patient care equipment, such as IV pumps, sequential compression devices, syringe pumps, warmers, respiratory care equipment, blood pressure apparatus, walkers, commodes, orthopedic apparatus, and case carts.
  • Answer telephones as needed and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • 6 months of comparable materials or related experience.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stand, and lift a maximum of 75 pounds.
  • Excellent customer service, good communication skills, and follow-through.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Proficient in operating a computer for supply requests, equipment requests, equipment tracking, and efficiency reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Nursing, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of healthcare-related experience, extensive knowledge of medical hardware/software, and medical supplies through formal education channels.
