Key Responsibilities:
  • Monthly Manufacturing Close Process: Oversee the monthly manufacturing close process, ensuring accurate recording of all costs, preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling account balances, and generating reports.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze plant operational costs on a monthly basis to inform financial decisions.
  • Manufacturing Analysis Reports: Prepare monthly analysis reports related to manufacturing and oversee related supply chain initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Facilitate monthly meetings with operations and leadership teams to discuss business growth and key cost insights.
  • Cost Accounting Expertise: Develop expertise in both produced and purchased goods to ensure accurate cost accounting and support strategic decision-making.
  • Annual Budgeting: Prepare annual cost-of-sales budgets and manage the standard cost roll process.
  • Standard Product Costing: Establish and maintain standard product costing.
  • Cost Estimates: Review cost estimates for new products to determine pricing strategies.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate across departments on key projects and cost accounting needs.
  • Annual Audit: Lead the annual audit process related to cost of sales, manufacturing operations, and inventory, providing timely responses and analysis as needed.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the compilation of information for tax return preparation.
  • Cost Variance Analysis: Provide commentary on cost-of-sales variances versus budget.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CMA, and/or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing cost accounting within growing companies, with a solid understanding of full-cycle supply chain management.
  • Financial Skills: Advanced skills in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience supporting senior leadership with financial insights.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Oracle ERP is advantageous).
  • Business Intelligence: Experience with Business Performance Management systems (IBM COGNOS TM1 experience preferred).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
