Job SummaryWe are seeking a friendly, patient-focused and detail-oriented Practice Assistant to join our team. As a Practice Assistant, you will be responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. You will work cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
- Verify insurance information, address and phone number of the patient, register new patients
- Arrive patients on the computer for scheduled appointments
- Collect and post co-pays and any other payment at time of service
- Schedule patients for future appointments
- Assist therapists with paperwork needed for pre-certification of therapy visits
- Answer telephone, take messages for the practice
- Confirm new patient appointments for the next day
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, faxing and filing
- Contact patient in case of no call show
- Perform related work as required

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of customer service or Healthcare related experience
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Ability to travel 10% to Manhattan practices if needed for coverage
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
- Knowledge of Medical terms
- 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese or Mandarin and English
