QualificationsTo be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A valid Registered Professional Engineer License.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to lead electrical design projects and manage a team of engineers.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
- Self-motivation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Experience with Federal facilities, Healthcare, and Higher Education projects.
- Conduct field surveys for electrical system designs, gather necessary information, and prepare site assessment reports.
- Create electrical schematic designs.
- Develop power single line and riser diagrams.
- Perform electrical calculations including arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, and load flow using ETAP/SKM.
- Select lighting fixtures and power equipment.
- Design lighting and power circuiting.
- Coordinate the lighting control system design.
- Prepare fire alarm device layouts in accordance with International Fire Code and NFPA 72.
- Design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and operational sequences.
- Create detailed plans, elevations, schedules, and specifications.
- Understand and apply CAD/BIM standards.
- Possess knowledge of California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium- and low-voltage systems.
- Facilitate coordination among various disciplines such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural.
- Edit project specifications as needed.
- Manage multiple large-scale projects, collaborating with senior engineers and subconsultants.
- Provide mentorship to junior design engineers.
- Independently prepare proposals for clients.
- Actively develop business relationships with new and existing clients.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Evaluate equipment submittals.
- Conduct punch walks and prepare punch list reports.
