Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A valid Registered Professional Engineer License.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lead electrical design projects and manage a team of engineers.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience with Federal facilities, Healthcare, and Higher Education projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Design Engineering
  • Conduct field surveys for electrical system designs, gather necessary information, and prepare site assessment reports.
  • Create electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering
  • Develop power single line and riser diagrams.
  • Perform electrical calculations including arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, and load flow using ETAP/SKM.
  • Select lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Design lighting and power circuiting.
  • Coordinate the lighting control system design.
  • Prepare fire alarm device layouts in accordance with International Fire Code and NFPA 72.
  • Design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and operational sequences.
  • Create detailed plans, elevations, schedules, and specifications.
  • Understand and apply CAD/BIM standards.
  • Possess knowledge of California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium- and low-voltage systems.
  • Facilitate coordination among various disciplines such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural.
  • Edit project specifications as needed.
Project Management
  • Manage multiple large-scale projects, collaborating with senior engineers and subconsultants.
  • Provide mentorship to junior design engineers.
  • Independently prepare proposals for clients.
  • Actively develop business relationships with new and existing clients.
Construction Administration
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Evaluate equipment submittals.
  • Conduct punch walks and prepare punch list reports.
