Job Overview

Position: Airport Lounge Culinary Preparation - Part-Time Weekends

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time on Saturdays and Sundays

Role Summary

We are seeking Culinary Preparation Specialists for our lounge operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare food items for service while ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for patrons. This position involves standard food service tasks, including sanitation and various serving duties. Candidates should be knowledgeable about proper food handling protocols and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and portion various food items for cooking or serving.
  • Follow customer orders or directives from supervisors to prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Arrange food on serving platters, trays, or carts for presentation.
  • Process meats and poultry for cooking.
  • Prepare and serve beverages, including coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
  • Transport food supplies and utensils to and from storage areas.
  • Store food properly to prevent spoilage, adhering to FIFO (first in, first out) practices.
  • Set up and replenish buffet stations.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Order, store, and distribute food supplies and equipment.
  • Label and date prepared food items.
  • Complete food safety documentation.
  • Wash dishes and assist with cleaning duties throughout the lounge.
  • Manage waste disposal in designated areas.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Applicants must successfully pass a security background check. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience in customer service or food service is beneficial. Candidates must be at least 18 or 21 years old, as required by law. Strong multitasking and communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English is necessary.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications, including local health department food handler certification.
  • Stand for the duration of the scheduled shift.
  • Manage the demands of a fast-paced work environment.
  • Read and interpret basic documents and adhere to company policies.
  • Present information clearly in both individual and group settings.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds independently and push/pull up to 120 pounds with assistance.
  • Follow safety and health regulations diligently.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards.
  • Report to work consistently and punctually.
