Position Overview: The Program Coordinator role represents a critical level of performance, tasked with the comprehensive management and coordination of a human services initiative. This involves the development, organization, and delivery of programs, resources, and services tailored to meet the needs of clients. The incumbent will strategize and implement improvements to enhance outcomes within human services programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall management and coordination of human services programs.
  • Prepare and evaluate grant proposals, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement community programs and resources.
  • Organize and lead special projects as assigned by the Director.
  • Conduct assessments to identify community needs and develop appropriate resources.
  • Review and recommend modifications to agency or community programs to adapt to evolving client and community needs.
  • Coordinate resources and programs between the agency and the community.
  • Oversee the activities of professional, clerical, and volunteer personnel.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, agencies, and the public.
  • Assess and identify community trends and needs.
  • Deliver presentations to community groups and stakeholders.
  • Enhance program and outreach service delivery through effective coordination.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and recommend policies, procedures, and program budgets for approval.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a related discipline, supplemented by relevant work experience in the designated program areas. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a human services organization.
  • Proficiency in grant writing, project management, and community development.
  • Familiarity with the Children's Services Act (CSA).
  • Experience in coordinating meetings, training sessions, and events.
  • Knowledge of software systems relevant to program management.

Special Requirements:

All candidates will undergo a comprehensive background check, including a driving record review, drug screening, and criminal history investigation. Candidates must be prepared to work in a community emergency response capacity if required.
