Position Overview

SMMA is on the lookout for a seasoned Project Manager to oversee our K-12 sector. Our diverse portfolio encompasses a wide array of public, private, charter, and vocational schools across the New England region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal liaison throughout the lifecycle of your projects.
  • Deliver project updates to clients, boards, and community stakeholders.
  • Guide internal design team members and external consultants with clear directives.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among all participants.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and scope of work.
  • Engage in the proposal process for new project opportunities.
  • Evaluate technical challenges, assess construction methods, and analyze budget estimates for optimal construction solutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • A passion for enhancing educational environments.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the design and construction process.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and enjoyment in working with others.
  • Proficient in serving as the intermediary between clients and project teams.
  • Ability to lead a team and develop project plans effectively.
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager or Project Architect.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites within the New England area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with K-12 educational clients.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) processes.
  • Possession of a Registered Architect license.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Construction Management.
  • MCPPO certification.
