Position Title: ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) COORDINATOR

Overview:
The EHS Coordinator will collaborate with the EHS Office to oversee the implementation and management of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHS-MS). This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to EHS regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide daily oversight of the EHS management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Foster a safety-oriented culture by reviewing and updating training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Collaborate with researchers to assess risks and manage hazardous activities in line with EHS guidelines.
4. Support departmental stakeholders in fulfilling their EHS responsibilities effectively.
5. Facilitate the orientation of new EHS representatives and coordinate meetings with departmental EHS contacts.
6. Monitor and ensure compliance with training requirements and escalate issues to leadership as necessary.
7. Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records of chemical inventories and regulatory reporting.
8. Act as the emergency preparedness coordinator, participating in the development of emergency plans and responding to incidents.

Qualifications:
Required:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, EHS, or a related field.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn specialized EHS software.
- Strong organizational, administrative, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
