Job Title: Communications Manager

Job Summary:

The Communications Manager plays a critical role in managing all written communications on behalf of Events DC. This position requires exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive correspondence strategy to support the organization's communication goals.
Draft and edit a wide range of written communications, including letters, reports, memos, and other official documents.
Review and approve correspondence drafted by team members to ensure quality and adherence to established guidelines.
Coordinate with various departments to gather information and input for correspondence content.
Manage the distribution and filing of all outgoing correspondence to ensure timely delivery and proper record-keeping.
Monitor industry trends and best practices in correspondence management to continuously improve communication strategies.
Collaborate with the communications team to align written content with overall messaging and branding guidelines.
Provide guidance and training to staff members on effective written communication techniques.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in communication, English, Journalism, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Three (3) years of experience related to correspondence, executive writing, communications, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
Expert understanding of all Microsoft applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
