KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and confirm materials after relocating them to the operational area.
  • Manage material handling, staging, and loading to ensure CNC burn tables meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards.
  • Adhere to all operational procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors regarding any quality or safety concerns.
  • Safely unload components following cutting operations.
  • Oversee the removal and appropriate disposal of scrap, while identifying and marking reusable panels.
  • Transport reusable materials to designated locations.
  • Document cut materials according to production specifications.
  • Perform grinding and cleanup of parts immediately after removal from the machine.
  • Report any defects to operators, line leads, and supervisors.
  • Assist in operator preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and time sheets for inventory and job costing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in personal and shared workspaces.
  • Safely operate machinery for brief periods.
  • Perform additional duties and cross-training as directed by supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the following skills and experience: prior experience in fabrication, including crane operation, metal processing, and material handling. Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as production travelers and procedures is essential. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are necessary.

Additional qualifications include: over one year of manufacturing experience in a steel or aluminum environment; over one year of experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts; and the ability to read and understand blueprint drawings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform repetitive movements, including standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling materials of varying sizes and weights for extended periods. Regular lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds is required, utilizing proper lifting techniques and assistance when necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment involves regular activity on the production floor, necessitating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Employees may encounter noise, dust, heat, and cold, along with potential hazards from machinery and tools, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
