Position Overview

The ALPS team at Rose International is seeking a dynamic and versatile Senior Business Analyst specializing in Operational Risk. This role demands a proactive individual who can engage in a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously while demonstrating a strong commitment to learning about Capital Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of onboarding new systems related to trading, product processing, reconciliation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with technology teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Implement mid-level project management practices to monitor global projects and provide updates to senior leadership.
  • Support end users of reporting tools and engage with senior stakeholders within our client base.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in Investment Banking Operations or IT.
  • Experience in operational risk and control is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Operations is beneficial.
  • Proficient in analyzing data from various sources and large datasets.
  • Experience in facilitating global discussions and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proficient in creating project documentation and presentations using Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing and experience with MicroStrategy is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like QlikView or Tableau is a plus.
  • Experience in project management methodologies, including SCRUM and Six Sigma.
  • SQL experience is a plus.

Role Tasks Include:

  • Managing projects through all lifecycle phases, including requirements specification, user acceptance testing (UAT), rollout, and post-production evaluations.
  • Creating and enhancing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Feed Specification Documents.
  • Acting as a liaison between technology and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Developing and executing UAT test plans to validate that business requirements are met.
  • Facilitating UAT sign-off processes with users across various business levels.
  • Contributing to project rollout and post-production checkouts to ensure successful project completion.
  • Updating documentation, including BRDs, mapping specifications, and user stories.
  • Identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements for continuous enhancement.
  • Engaging with Operations, IT, Internal Audit, and Line Control at a senior level.
