Infusion Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our infusion department at Cancer Partners of Nebraska (CPN). As a member of our team, you will provide comprehensive oncology services in an adult outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have current Nebraska-licensed registered nursing license from an accredited school of nursing and must be CPR certified. At least three years of nursing experience is required, with critical care or prior oncology/chemotherapy experience being preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members, and co-workers.

Key Responsibilities
As an Infusion Nurse at CPN, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing general nursing care to patients and administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Observing, recording, and reporting patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians. Dispensing medication as directed. Educating patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
- Monitoring and tracking all medications and medical supplies/equipment, including ensuring timely maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintaining/reviewing patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posting tests and examination results.
- Responding to/referring incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructing patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
Requirements
To be successful as an Infusion Nurse at CPN, you will need:
- Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelors' (BSN) or OCN certification preferred.
- Minimum of one year professional nursing experience.
- Knowledge of nursing processes, healthcare systems, structure, and functions, and community resources.
- Familiarity with state law of nursing care and nursing practice guidelines.
- Knowledge of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies.
- Knowledge of chart/medical records documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of healthcare information.
- Ability to act in a professional and positive manner when interacting with patients.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergent and stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, in writing, and on the phone in the English language.
- Ability to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and their families.
