Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team at UVA Health. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in providing expert care to victims of sexual assault and other forms of violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and compassionate forensic examinations of victims of sexual assault and other forms of violence.
  • Collect and preserve evidence, including photographs and medical records.
  • Provide expert testimony in court as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy groups to ensure victims receive the support they need.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
