Open Sky Community Services is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team in a new and exciting partnership program with the Lancaster & Lunenburg Police Departments. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies to provide psychiatric and substance use evaluations to community members in need.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide referrals to individuals and families in crisis who encounter the police.
- Apply the strategies of the Crisis Intervention model to help persons with mental disorders and/or addictions access medical treatment rather than place them in the criminal justice system due to illness-related behaviors.
- Participate in cross-training with law enforcement and represent the program in a prepared and professional manner at community events and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain connections with law enforcement and community agencies by providing documented case consultation, program development, and problem resolution.
- Master's Degree in a related counseling field, required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in crisis intervention and minimum of 3 years working in the social work, mental health, and/or criminal justice field, required.
- Must have experience working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies and experience in a training capacity.
- Experience and comfort working independently required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
