Crisis Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health Care. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide critical support to patients in psychiatric crisis, utilizing your expertise in psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention skills, and knowledge of community resources.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans for patients in psychiatric crisis.
- Coordinate and facilitate system treatment meetings to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Work with patients and their families to implement treatment plans, provide group and individual therapy, and coordinate community services and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure appropriate referrals to inpatient units, outpatient care, and diversion programs.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, students, and others.
- Master's degree in Human Services or equivalent.
- License eligible upon hire (LICSW, LISW, or LMHC). If not licensed upon hire, employee must obtain LICSW or LICW license within 18 months of hire or will be subject to termination.
- One to three years of experience in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
- Demonstrated ability in psychosocial assessment, knowledge of community resources, crisis intervention skills, ability in discharge planning, and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and communications skills.
- Basic computer skills.
This position requires working 8-hour shifts with staggered hours, including 2 weekend shifts per month and every other holiday.
