CHA Perioperative Services encompasses various specialties including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastics, Podiatry, Vascular, and Endoscopy, among others.

Cambridge Health Alliance's proficient Surgery team has successfully conducted numerous procedures at some of Boston's leading teaching hospitals. Our recruitment of esteemed surgeons allows us to deliver cutting-edge care in our operating rooms. The department has expanded significantly, incorporating skilled surgeons who provide specialized care to our communities. Recent initiatives include a minimally invasive surgery program, a hepatobiliary and pancreatic program, and a multidisciplinary breast center. Whenever feasible, we utilize minimally invasive techniques to alleviate discomfort and expedite recovery from surgery.

Procedures, including Endoscopy, are performed at Cambridge and Everett hospitals, with outpatient Endoscopy conducted at our Somerville Campus.

The primary role of the Surgical Technician is to ensure quality patient care in accordance with the standards set by Cambridge Health Alliance, the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates.

The Surgical Technologist assists the surgical provider and circulating nurse by preparing and supporting surgical procedures.

Surgical technologists are responsible for preparing surgical instruments, providing necessary equipment to surgeons during operations, maintaining the sterile environment within the operating room, and completing additional tasks as required.

Clinical leadership at Cambridge Health Alliance is demonstrated through personal commitment, accountability, and initiative in clinical practice. The surgical technologist aids patients in achieving their healthcare objectives.

Education/Training :
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program required
