CHA Perioperative Services encompasses various specialties including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastics, Podiatry, Vascular, and Endoscopy among others.

The Surgery team at Cambridge Health Alliance is renowned for its extensive experience, having conducted numerous procedures at some of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in the region. Our team comprises highly skilled surgeons who are dedicated to delivering advanced care in our operating rooms. Recent expansions have introduced specialized programs such as minimally invasive surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic care, and a multidisciplinary breast center. We prioritize minimally invasive techniques to enhance patient comfort and expedite recovery times.

Procedures, including Endoscopy, are conducted at our facilities, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.

The primary responsibility of the Surgical Support Specialist is to deliver exceptional patient care in alignment with the standards set by Cambridge Health Alliance, the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates.

This role involves assisting the surgical team and circulating nurse by preparing and supporting surgical procedures.

Surgical Support Specialists are tasked with organizing surgical instruments, providing necessary equipment to surgeons during operations, maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room, and performing additional relevant duties.

Clinical leadership at Cambridge Health Alliance is demonstrated through dedication, accountability, and proactive engagement in clinical practice. The Surgical Support Specialist plays a vital role in helping patients achieve their healthcare objectives.
ON CALL RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED FOR NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

Education/Training :
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is mandatory.
