JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Controller is responsible for delivering precise and timely monthly financial statements and other fiscal data for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to present to both internal and external stakeholders. This role encompasses essential financial management duties, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting, while also coordinating budgetary and forecasting activities with the CFO. The Controller will implement and uphold internal control policies and procedures. As a leader within the finance team, the Controller supervises the financial oversight of commercial operations, managing daily activities and collaborating with various departments on special projects as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the CFO to manage finance and accounting functions.
  • Supervise the development of budgets, financial forecasts, performance dashboards, and variance analyses.
  • Oversee accounting processes, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual external audit process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports, adhering strictly to company policies and deadlines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers to provide clear and concise analyses of ongoing financial performance.
  • Prepare and track performance against forecasts and budgets.
  • Oversee treasury functions to ensure effective management of working capital.
  • Provide analysis and strategic insights to executive and senior management proactively and upon request.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, CPA certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
