Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the existing patient database and billing software.
  • Exhibit professional phone etiquette while representing VieMed.
  • Gather patient demographic details and health insurance information; collect co-pay when necessary.
  • Input patient data into the computer system accurately.
  • Verify and document insurance benefits.
  • Stay informed about Medicare and insurance regulations as directed by management.
  • Effectively interpret and comprehend medical documentation.
  • Engage professionally with physicians, patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Coordinate scheduling of setups as requested by physicians or their office staff, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Answer phone calls in a courteous and professional manner, relaying information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with management and other supervisors.
  • Foster effective communication and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues for the benefit of patients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and maintain a consistent level of productivity; be self-motivated. Organize and manage activities with consideration for the needs of the facility and staff.
  • Make informed decisions based on knowledge and sound judgment within the scope of practice.
  • Safely and correctly operate computer equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
