The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a full-time Trainer/Instructor in the Division of Licensure and Regulatory Services.
This position is dedicated to the support, development, coordination, and delivery of training to regulated constituents. - Select and implement suitable training and instructional methodologies.
- Evaluate and audit the performance of training institutions to enhance quality and compliance.
- Review and process applications for new training schools.
- Coordinate training for Regional Compliance Agents, Instructors, and In-Service Firearm training.
- Design and deliver professional development training through various formats including classroom, online, and self-paced learning.
- Act as an internal training consultant to school directors and compliance agents to identify training needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of training programs to ensure they meet stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and manage internal training initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of all training-related applications.
- Provide technical assistance and customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with management on the development of statutory and regulatory programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess:
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
- Experience with various training methods and instructional tools.
- Familiarity with different learning management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in program planning, needs assessment, and program evaluation.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training purposes.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to implement new initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Additional Considerations:
- Knowledge of criminal justice, social work, psychology, political science, or adult learning techniques is preferred.
