Job Overview

SUMMARY: The role involves overseeing production line operations, analyzing data and waste management, controlling operational checkpoints, and ensuring the quality of materials and supplies. Responsibilities include operating machinery for start-up, shut-down, cleaning, sterilization, and pasteurization processes. The operator will fill containers with products that adhere to specifications, securely seal containers, and appropriately cool the products. Additionally, the operator will transfer containers from pallets to conveyors and maintain accurate records of pallets utilized. Monitoring quality and flow to fillers is essential, as is the efficient operation of the de-palletizer while understanding its functionalities. The operator will also track machine performance and assist in troubleshooting issues. The goal is to produce finished goods that meet customer specifications and comply with food safety regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks are essential and may include additional duties as assigned. All activities must be conducted in accordance with Tree Top operational policies, safety protocols, and good manufacturing practices. It is the duty of every employee to report any food safety or quality concerns to authorized personnel.

  • Ensure smooth operation of production lines and balance output effectively.
  • Relieve operators when qualified to do so.
  • Monitor production data, waste levels, and control points.
  • Assess the quality of incoming supplies and materials.
  • Evaluate machine performance and assist in identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Produce finished products that meet customer requirements and adhere to food safety standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position require the employee to perform essential functions successfully.

  • Regularly use hands for handling, reaching, and manipulating tools or controls. Climb, balance, talk, hear, and engage in sensory activities.
  • Engage in sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for inspection, distance vision for monitoring production flow, color vision for quality assessment, peripheral vision for observing multiple processes, depth perception for machinery operation, and the ability to adjust focus for identifying defects.

  • Employees may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, electrical hazards, high positions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, various weather conditions, vibrations, and elevated noise levels.
